The Supersonic has been called overpriced, life-changing, gimmicky, and brilliant — sometimes by the same reviewer. Here is our take after using it daily for several months in our team.
Who is it for?
This is not a one-size-fits-all device. It works particularly well for three profiles.
- Daily users with medium to thick hair. The drying time is genuinely cut by 30 to 50 % compared to a mid-range dryer. Over a year, that is hours saved.
- People who care about heat damage. The intelligent heat control prevents the spikes that damage hair fibre over time. If you have colour-treated or chemically processed hair, this matters.
- Those with wrist or shoulder issues. The motor sits in the handle, which moves the centre of gravity to your palm. After 5 to 10 minutes of drying, the difference is real.
Who should skip it
- Travellers who want a packable option (look at the Travel version instead).
- People with very fine hair who never use heat above the lowest setting — a 50 € dryer will do the job.
- Anyone unwilling to spend 200 € on a hair tool, even at the reduced price.

The honest pros
The airflow design works. Air comes out concentrated, which means less spread and less frizz than a wide-nozzle dryer. The Coanda-effect smoothing attachment is the standout — it directs air along the brush in a way that makes a blow-out at home actually achievable.
The heat regulation is real, not marketing. The temperature inside the airflow stays within a narrow band rather than spiking. Hair fibre holds up longer between cuts.
Magnetic attachments are addictive. They snap on without alignment, rotate freely while drying, and never wobble off. You actually use them — which is rare for blow-dryer accessories.
The honest cons
The price. At full RRP it is hard to justify rationally. The performance gap over a 100 € dryer is real but not 4× better.
Noise. It is quieter than most competitors at the same power, but it is not quiet. If you wake people up when drying your hair, it will still happen.
Not great for very curly hair. The lack of a true diffuser in the basic kit is a miss. You can buy one separately, but a curly-hair-specific dryer might serve you better.
How to make it last
- Clean the filter at the base every 2 weeks. Dust accumulates and reduces airflow.
- Store with the cord loosely coiled — tight wraps damage the internal wires over 2 to 3 years.
- Register the serial number with the manufacturer in the first 14 days. Warranty claims are smoother if you do.
Bottom line
If you dry your hair daily and the price gap with a 100 € dryer is not painful, you will not regret it. If you dry your hair twice a week, get a good 100 € dryer instead.
